01 Feb 3 Reasons You Should Learn Adobe Illustrator

For those of you who don’t know yet, I have an online course on Brit + Co to learn Adobe Illustrator! It’s slated towards beginners, but is still a great course for intermediate-levelers. And what better thing to do than learn a new skill in 2017?

Hard to believe it’s already February, feels like the year is already running away from us! So if you set a goal to learn something new this year, there’s no better time than now!

Aubrey Rojas wrote an awesome article about why you should learn Adobe Illustrator, and it was so good, I wanted to share you with her 3 ideas:

  1. It’s a resume builder. This one is a no brainer as it’s always good to have new skills when you apply to jobs. And this one in particular will give you that edge above other applicants. Watch out competition, you are going to be hired.
  2. It’s improves your creativity. Adobe Illustrator will unlock more possibilities in the creative realm than you’ve ever had available to you. Easy tasks that are solved with difficult & complicated stock desktop applications or one-trick-websites will be a cinch with this new skill. You’ll be able to communicate ideas easier, increase your imagination and solve ideas faster.
  3. It allows you to build your personal brand. I’m a firm believer that everyone has a brand, it’s in your physical appearance, the words you say, the things you publicize, the friends you surround yourself with, the activities you do, and the things you produce. Improve that personal brand a little bit with some Illustrator magic. Create a new FB cover, your own “handmade” gifts, a personal business card, or maybe a logo—go wild!
